Healing Sounds
Discover the instruments used throughout sound therapy, along with the therapeutic benefits they provide to mental & physical health.
Sound therapy utilizes a variety of instruments that produce certain frequencies and vibrations—and invite use of the body (such as drumming)—which have been found to promote wellness and address specific health issues. Some of the therapeutic instruments used throughout Carol’s events include: crystal singing bowls, tongue drum, djembe drums, various chimes, strumok, & percussion instruments (including two frog rasps named Elton and Jerry). Listening to soothing sounds or vibrations helps to reduce the production of stress hormones like cortisol; this promotes relaxation, calms the mind, and reduces feelings of anxiety and tension. Certain frequencies and rhythms can stimulate the release of endorphins and neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin which improves mood, alleviates symptoms of depression, and enhances emotional well-being. Gentle, rhythmic sounds can affect brainwave patterns, promoting deeper relaxation and better sleep; this reduces insomnia, enhances sleep quality, and supports overall mental rejuvenation. Sound & Wellness comes to you
and holds events in community spaces.
We work at places focused on creating and sustaining wellness: Yoga/Pilates studios, wellness/retreat/art centers, senior communities, and residential programs for survivors of trauma and injustice.
Often sound baths and circles take place in natural settings to take advantage of other forms of healing: at flower farms, park pavilions, countryside barns or a cabin in the woods.
Take a look at a few of the places where we have hosted events.
